Dr. Michele Nelligan

Dr. Michele Nelligan has been caring for pets and their families in northeast Florida for more than 15 years. A south Florida native, she followed her passion for animals to the University of Florida, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She then completed a one‑year rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency Medicine at UF’s College of Veterinary Medicine—an experience that strengthened her love for hands‑on care and problem‑solving.

Her journey in veterinary medicine has taken her from Louisiana to Jacksonville and St. Augustine, where she has supported numerous clinics as a trusted relief veterinarian. Now settled with her family in north Saint Johns, Dr. Nelligan brings a calm, reassuring presence to every visit. She has a special interest in surgery and takes pride in helping pets feel their best, whether they’re facing a routine procedure or something more complex.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Dr. Nelligan soaking up the Florida sunshine, exploring new travel spots, or enjoying a good tabletop game with family and friends. She believes in balancing excellent veterinary care with genuine connection—and she loves getting to know the families behind every patient.
